Jill Zarin fired from ‘RHONY’ reunion series after racist Bad Bunny rant

Former “Real Housewives of New York City” cast member Jill Zarin has been removed from the upcoming E! reunion series, The Golden Life, after making controversial remarks about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance.

In an Instagram video that has since been deleted, Zarin described the show as “the worst halftime show ever.” She questioned the decision to feature a Spanish-language performance during what she referred to as a significant celebratory moment in the United States, saying she would have preferred to understand the lyrics.

Zarin also suggested the performance carried political undertones related to immigration issues and claimed there was a lack of white representation on stage, despite Lady Gaga appearing as a special guest. She further criticised the NFL’s choice of headliner, accusing the league of “selling out” and calling the situation “very sad” during a milestone year for the organisation.

Following widespread backlash after the video circulated online, Blink49 Studios confirmed that Zarin would no longer be involved in The Golden Life.

“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in ‘The Golden Life,’” the company said in a statement to Variety. “We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”

Zarin had been slated to appear in the 10-episode docuseries alongside fellow former “RHONY” stars Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and Kelly Bensimon.

An official premiere date has not yet been announced, though filming is expected to begin in South Florida this spring.
