to get to know each other during the show. They recently shared that they are so close that they consider each other their "best friends". “Me and Hunter were really close at the end, maybe top 10,” Noah said during an interview with Hollywood Life. "We have our trailers together and everything. We talk every day. We're just there for each other." Both artists find it helpful to have someone on their side who knows what they're up against—including all the good and bad that comes with their rapid success.

He added: "Me and Hunter are best friends - we've been best friends ever since and we're always there for each other. That's what you need for that. We just have each other like that." They were already together on stage and in the studio, but they never recorded an official duet together. In a previous interview with Hollywood Life, HunterGirl teased that a duet with Thompson is possible in the future. “I hope so. I hope there's a duet in the future,"

HunterGirl shared. "He's one of my best friends, so it's great to see someone connect with the two of us. Be careful." Thompson stated that he was also in favor of the idea. "I hope we can definitely do something in the future," he teased in an interview with Music Mayhem. At the end of the competition, many of the contestants released their own music, including Thompson. He recorded his catchy debut single "One Day Tonight" with HunterGirl on backing vocals. "Hunter and I are really good.

We're like brother and sister. I love Hunter to death. So for him to do that to me was amazing." We were kind of in it together and that's so cool to me,” Thompson told Music Mayhem. At this year's CMA Fest in June, the up-and-coming Idol alums had a busy week as they stopped by Music City and performed at iconic venues like the Bluebird Café and on stage with other young country artists like Jimmie Allen, Laci Kaye Booth and Chayce Beckman.

This is just a taste of what's to come. On July 29, Thompson dropped a stage version of Rihanna's 2012 hit "Stay". It received rave reviews from fans and other Idol contestants such as Leah Marlene and Fritz Hager. One user wrote: "This song is going to be #1!!" HunterGirl also shared on social media that she's been busy writing new music while she's back in Nashville, and fans can only hope that a duet with Thompson is in the works again.

This Friday, August 5th, he will take the stage with Chase Matthew and Frank Ray in Fayette, Arizona, before performing with Noah Thompson on August 12th in Michigan.
