“COUNTRY MUSIC HIGHWAY HOMECOMING” SET FOR 2022 SEPTEMBERFEST: NOAH, RICKY SKAGGS AND LARRY CORDLE TO PERFORM

LOUISA, KY - Lawrence County Septemberfest has announced a partial lineup of entertainment for the annual festival Billed as the "twentieth anniversary," the 2022 festival will include what we're calling the "Country Music Highway Homecoming," according to a festival spokesperson. "We expect it to be the biggest festival ever." This festival will showcase the talent and achievements created in our country music scene.

Headlining acts include Ricky Skaggs and Larry Cordle, both from the Blaine-Brushy area of the district, who have had successful careers in country and bluegrass music. Ricky Skaggs is a 15-time Grammy Award winner with a list of music awards too long to name. Ricky often said he was "just trying to make a living" playing the music he loved.

But it's clear that his passion for it puts him in a position to bring his vibrant, uniquely American form of music from isolation to the ears and hearts of audiences across the country and around the world. Ricky Skaggs has always been at the forefront of cross-cultural, genre-bending ideas and musical inspiration. Larry Cordle has had an incredible career writing songs and performing country and bluegrass songs across the country.

At last count, Cordle's songs have appeared on projects that have sold a total of over 55 million records (so far). Cordle's songs have been recorded by artists such as Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Rhonda Vincent, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Trisha Yearwood, Reba McEntire, Diamond Rio, Alan Jackson, Trace Adkins and many others. The festival also features hometown favorite Noah Thompson, whose career exploded after winning the popular TV show American Idol. Noah is sure to excite the crowd with his single "One day tonight" as well as a preview of what he's been working on. Bobby Cyrus will also return from Nashville. Bobby's career continues to grow and he and his wife Teddi Cyrus have some exciting things in the future.

Both are there to start the festival. Berne Louisa, Nashville artist Adam Chaffins along with special guest Brit Taylor will return to the house to showcase their latest music. Chaffins finds inspiration in a variety of musical styles and personal experiences. Creating a new breed of country and Americana music infused with R&B and indie rock, his multi-genre sound is both distinctive and comfortably familiar. "Appalachian Rock Band" looks about as good as it gets for Luna and the Mountain Jets. This foursome from Eastern Kentucky includes a lot of music. The space between Lucinda Williams and Tom Petty is occupied by clanging riffs and stories driven by the sounds of country life. Hailing from the Blaine area, Luna has built a huge following throughout the region.

Other artists in the area include Luke Tremble, Luke has deep roots in Lawrence and Johnson County and has really caught on with his singing and songwriting recently playing popular shows like Red Barn Radio and acoustic venues in the region. He has a great fan base in Lawrence County and we look forward to seeing him. Due to contractual restrictions, this is a partial list of the amazing festival taking place in downtown Louisa on September 9th and 10th, 2022. Additional country acts, as well as our bluegrass shows, will be announced in the coming weeks
