Ever since Noah Thompson was announced as the winner of American Idol last May, rumors have been swirling that he broke up with his girlfriend Angel Dixon and started dating Idol runner-up HunterGirl. While Noah recently tried to put the rumor to rest, some believe that Angel may now be speaking her own way about the situation.
On July 8, Angel, who is mother to her and Noah's son Walker, posted two photos of herself on Instagram. Although she doesn't show her face in the photos, colorful wildflowers cover the back of her jeans. According to his caption, the props seem to symbolize a match he experienced.
"Flowers grow from dark moments🌻🖤," she captioned the photos. In response to Angelo's Instagram post, his followers sent heartfelt and encouraging messages in the comments section. "Everything you and Noah have done for your son is amazing," one person said in part. "She is doing a great job with herself and winning an idol while you are killing it at home raising your child alone ❤️ Thanks to you both, your child has a great future ahead of her." Angel replied, "Oh, you have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you so much. 🥺❤️.”
Following Noah's win on the ABC competition show, he and Angel appeared to be stalking each other on social media, further fueling breakup rumors. On July 15, Noah announced the release of a country version of Rihanna's R&B ballad "Stay." She first made headlines in Hollywood Week after a "shaky" duet threatened to cost her a spot in the top 24.
Before Noah performs his incredible rendition in front of American Idol judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, he reveals some of his inspired decisions. "It's not a song I normally do, but it reminds me of coming home because it's a song me and my girlfriend Angel sing," he said. Noah didn't mention that anecdote when he shared the trailer for his studio recording. "Stay" July 29. Link in bio to pre-save and add. #stay,” he captioned the 30-second video on Instagram.
